Many cheers to Brooklyn-based writer, Kate Christensen, on her winning the 2008 PEN/Faulkner fiction award for her novel "The Great Man." I first found Christensen through a former professor who lent me a copy of "The Epicure's Lament" and have been following her since. The panel did it right this year. Pick up the book. Pick up all of her books.

Kate Christensen is one of America's greatest contemporary writers. She turns a phrase as fast as you'll want to turn the page.
